This area of the analytics platform provides information, reports, and resources that measure our student's success and provide insight into the different factors and trends that influence their success. With this, we aim to provide the best opportunities for our students as well as the information necessary for our faculty and staff to make data-driven decisions around the best policies and practices that affect our students.

About SHIP Students: General information on a number of topics related to Shippensburg’s students.  Reports include data on most popular majors, enrollments by college, as well as new and transfer student statistics.
Enrollments: Historical enrollment data for Shippensburg University for each term, including fall, spring, summer, and winter sessions going back to the 2010 academic year.  Metrics include headcount by program level, gender, and race/ethnicity.
Graduation & Retention Rates: Student performance data and measures going back to the 1998 fall cohort of freshman students.  Reports contain persistence, retention, and graduation rates by student race, ethnicity, and gender for several student groups.
Historical Factbook

These resources offer additional insight into the latest trends and measures involving students served by other State System institutions as well higher educational institutions throughout the country. Below is a list of resources commonly used to compliment and improve the richness of the analysis of Shippensburg’s students.

is a report maintained by the State System Office of Advanced Data Analytics.  It combines student data from each of the 14 State System universities to provide insight on student enrollments and completions measures. With over 20 different filters related to student demographics and academic attributes, users can quickly discover trends between different student groups and benchmark against other universities.  For more information about the report, see the .
The  is a report maintained by the State System Office of Advanced Data Analytics.  It combines student data from each of the 14 State System universities to provide insight on student performance measures such as retention rates, persistence rates, and graduation rates.  By tracking student performance at a cohort level and including several filters, users can quickly gain insight into the performance of various student groups within a cohort as well as compare the performance trends from cohort to cohort. The  is responsible for collecting and analyzing data from universities within the State System. As part of this, they are responsible for producing reports each year on student enrollments, completions, performance, and academic outcomes. These documents have been made available to State System members on the Office of Advanced Data Analytics SharePoint site.
The   is a system of interrelated surveys conducted annually by the U.S. Department of Education’s National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). IPEDS gathers information from every college, university, and technical and vocational institution that participates in the federal student financial aid programs. These data are made available to students and parents through the college search Web site and to researchers and others through the .
The   is an online tool developed and maintained by the U.S. Department of Education that allows consumers to compare the relative cost and value of higher education institutions in the United States.  The tool combines data from multiple government sources such as IPEDS, NSLDS, and the Department of Treasury and makes this data available through its school search feature.  The data is also available for researchers to download on the website.
